Monique J.H. Speights' interest in procurement enables her to thrive as a contracting officer for the National Institutes of Health

BETHESDA, MD, August 16, 2010 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Monique J.H. Speights, Contracting Officer for the National Institutes of Health, has been recognized by Cambridge Who's Who for demonstrating dedication, leadership and excellence in veterinary resource management.

As a contracting officer for the National Institutes of Health, Monique J.H. Speights is responsible for overseeing the procurement of resources for government equipment services and service contracts. Prior to joining National Institutes of Health, Ms. Speights worked for the United States Department of Defense, the United States Department of the Army, the United States Department of the Navy, and the United States Department of Commerce. She became involved in her profession because of her interest in procurement, and she attributes her success to her hard work, family and faith in God.

Ms. Speights is pursuing her Bachelor of Arts in Marketing from Strayer University. In addition to her formal education, she has completed government contract training in levels 1, 2 and 3, at the Defense Acquisition University. She is a member of the Defense Acquisition University Alumni Association.
